It's that time of year again! Winter is here, although it does'nt have to be snowing to be cold.
As I woke up this morning and looked outside, I was almost blinded by the whiteness to my eyes. About 1 inch deep so far i gazed upon the sunrise only to find that it was dulled behind the clouds. Crows soaring with intent to find food, they fly as though they are happy snow is here.
Continuesly looking around at the beautiful natured ground i wonder to myself, how many people are not seeking the warmth of the shelter i was feeling? It is sad when you think of the snow being pretty when others don't even have a coat to put on, a bed to sleep in, or a hot meal to eat. My heart goes out to all who are in need this winter.
To me snow and winter mean helping each other. You might ask why? How many times have you been driving and see a woman with 2 or 3 kids and she is pushing her car because it won't start? How many times have you seen an elderly person trying to shovel their walkways? How many times have you seen a accident because someone wasn't paying attention to the roads and uncoming traffic? Now ask yourself...How many times have you helped that individual that was in need?
WInter is a desired time of year to help others. I hope as you venture out this year into the cold, snow, nasty roads, and ice you take precaution. Be safe and remember, "Helping one another is the gift of caring!"
