The Hudson Freshman/Sophomore football team went undefeated at 8-0 in the 2008 season. They scored a total of 337-34 points against all eight opposing teams. Five of the games they denied their opponents any points.
The Waterloo Columbus Sailors and the Aplington-Parkersburg (AP) teams each scored 14 points against Hudson. AP proved to be the toughest opponent against Hudson. I believe that it was this game that challenged the Pirates to be creative and audacious.
The Hudson team well executed their plays and credit is to be given to the coaches as they have instilled in their players the importance of teamwork, perseverance and keeping your eye on the ball.
As this team moves into varsity football for the 2009 season it will be an exciting year for the Hudson Pirates.
