The human rights group Amnesty International brought a replica Guantanamo Bay prison cell to the Republican National Convention in St. Paul for people to tour. The cell did not look very comfortable. I'm about 6' tall so anyone my height isn't sleeping very well. It seemed to be the same deal as something you might see in a high security American prison. Organizers were dressed in orange jumpsuits and were giving talks and handing out literature. They said they also brought the cell to the Democratic convention last week. Of course, both John McCain and Barack Obama say they plan to close Guantanamo Bay, and both have been explicit in their opposition to torture, but it's hard to hate on Amnesty International so I didn't bring it up. They are certainly trying to fight the good fight. This exhibit was open all week near the Excel Energy Center on 7th and Walnut.

Of course it looks like a prison. That's what we do with terrorists. Didn't look very comfortable? That's a shame.
