Known for their lofty views of the Cedar River, the trails, cabins and campsites of the Palisades-Kepler State Park have endured the flood with one exception. The remote bridge at the intersection of the Cool Hollow Trail and the river-side trail is no longer filled with dappled sunlight and the footfalls of hikers because it is now filled almost to the top with mud. Other bridges along the river-side trail and the Cool Hollow Trail have not been affected and are passable.
