On June 27, 2008 IC West High was raising money for the Football Program by lifting 1 million pounds. The weight lifting took place in the West High weight room from 6:00 pm till 7:30 pm for students in grades 9- 12. Letters were sent out to businesses and family members prior to the event and if turned in by June 27,2008 students would be eligible for receiving prizes for the fall season such as, Nike Football Goves, Under Armour Shirts or Loose Shorts, Nike Dri-Fit Compression Shirts or pants, etc. The total is yet to be seen, but for 60 students at approximately $200 a piece would be $12,000 not too bad for 1 hour and half of weight lifting. The weather cooperated by not being very hot and humid. Great thought and participation by all the students, Coach Sauser, and others involved.
