These are some pictures of the flooding that is taking place around the Amana Colonies. These photographs were taken on May 31st, 2013 around 10:30am. The water in all of these areas is still on the rise. The Iowa River, Millstream and various creeks are flooding throughout the Colonies. The majority of the flooding takes place between Main Amana and Homestead along Highway 151, between Main Amana and Middle Amana behind the plant (parking lots at the plant have mainly all been closed due to flooding and shuttles for the workers have been provided), between Middle Amana and High Amana along 220th Trail and between West Amana and South Amana along 220th Trail. Between West Amana and South Amana, orange fences have been prepared to block off the road as the water is about a foot from the road, if that. Amana Society trucks were patrolling the area and checking out the flood waters.
