On a bike ride down the Cedar River Trail in Cedar Rapids Wednesday evening, May 15, I noticed a large crowed of big white birds on Cedar Lake, which I photographed. A bit of Google research showed them to be White Pelicans, which summer in the northern U.S. and Canada, and winter in Mexico and Texas. Apparently this group paused in Cedar Rapids, presumably on its annual trip north.
