This brave little lady was found swimming in flood waters, area of the Duchess cleaners, on southwestside. Between 5th and 3rd ave. She was picked up by search and rescue.Given to a family they believed to be theirs. But after checking her out, she was not theirs. Since the man is homeless now could not keep her to find rightful owner so I volunteered to take her and hopefully find her family. If you think she may be yours. You can call us at 319-981-8391. If she is yours and you have no means of keeping her, She is welcome to stay until you can have her. We will feed and care for her for free as long as you need.

You could also take her to the Kirkwood Community College Animal Health Technology building. They have an emergency animal shelter set up there and owners are coming through and looking for their pets. Thanks for taking care of her!

Yeah, She's a pretty Special Kitty! She's very Lovey, and mellow. And although I hope we do find her "Family" for her (like I told her we were doing our Best to do) I've also told her that if no one claims her, she can stay with us for good.

Have you had her checked for a microchip? She is a beautiful kitty, I'm glad she's safe.

I would just keep her if I were you. Sounds like you have given her a good home. So many pets at Kirkwood are sadly going unclaimed.

Well, We;ve already gotten quite attached to this Kitty. She's so sweet I'd find it hard to believe that she didn't have someone desperately looking for her! She's already Spayed and declawed. We would have no problem keeping her if not claimed

Kirkwood is not keeping pets for much longer. I can't believe they are only housing these displaced pets for about two weeks! I know it was very good of them but it is not nearly long enough. The owners need more time. Where are the pets going?

Please contact the animal shelter. That is the place where owner look for their lost pets. They can at least put a picture of this cat in the photo albums for owners to look through.
