While we all know that losing the first span of the bridge is devastating to anyone who was ever there, however, at least part of it is still there.
The store has reopened.. the road has been repaired, you can still come out for that cold beer..and enjoy your friends..meet new ones.
I hope there is a fever to do fundraising to restore the bridge...its on the historical books..It just had a little bump...i hope we all will fix it, If its at all possible. I will be one of the first to make a donation. Life is full of bumps..this too shall pass, this bridge stood for 111 years...many footprints of time have crossed it. I hope to walk across it yet again someday. As I'm sure many of you do too!!
Sutliff Bridge...history in the making.

But, the bridge (which has historical value to everyone who know about it) was altered by another part of history...do we really want to put EVERYTHING back the way it was or do we want to, in essence, 'preserve' some of the damage this flood caused?

Whether they are able to restore...or merely preserve whats left, im sure funds will be needed. Im sure if you sent any donations to the bridge authority, they would be most welcome. Contact info is on the bridges webpage. www.sutliffbridge.com

hey you can have my song Ode To The Sutliff Bridge and sell the video or song and proceeds go to the Bridge and people in the area that were flooded.

If they took the $$$ off the ceiling in the tavern, that would be a good start......unless they used that to renovate the tavern....
