I agree Burner, the amount of effort and hard work it takes to drop even one tree (that could've been up to 80 years old), buck it up, haul it, and the time it takes to season it for burning. Wood is one of earth's most difficult crops to harvest.

Some of you have obviously never cut wood, that is alot of time and energy to do, heck yes he wants it back he's just asking for a simple call. Didn't know there was some "magic list" of what is important and what isn't. Try and be nice.

Can't believe you would be so concerned about WOOD....its just WOOD....get over it...others have lost much more important things I'd have to agree with Mr. Pickles

We found that the debris cleanup people came on to the yard and stole our wood. Caught them at it, but have not heard from the cops about what is happening about it. We use wood to heat our house all winter. Won't have enough now.

Hey, we all have different things we find important. Lay off. Good luck with your recovery. Hang in there.

Perfectly legitimate post. This isn't just a PETS Lost and Found. It can be anything flood related. I'm sure you can burn the firewood. It's not like it's "soaked" in chemicals and slime. We've all stood around a fire that had gas on it.

Besides it would almost be like saying that you couldn't cut a tree down that was in flood waters and burn it ever. Check with health officials first, ok. Don't just listen to some of these angry people who sometimes seem to lack many brains!!!!!!

The wood should be fine to burn. Unless you are burning it in a bon-fire situation. In most wood burning stove/furnaces, all of the bad stuff in hte wood will go right up the chimney like before. Check with health officials before you throw that wood

I would think that the wood would not be safe to burn. You do not want to burn that wood, not after it being in that water, the fumes could really be dangerous to your family.

jharms, I hope you find your fire wood. I think it’s completely legitimate that you posted your missing fire wood here. That’s what a “lost & found” section is for. Best of luck with flood recovery.

Virginia - thanks for the comment I didn't even think about that. Will be putting it out to throw away.

I hope you are not thinking of using this firewood. Soaked in the flood water, which contains all kinds of chemicals plus raw sewage.

you have got to be kidding you are worried about wood when there are so many other people that have lost everything. WHAT A JOKE
says ... on Friday, Jun 20 at 7:46 AM
I lost my house and put time and effort into buying and cutting up the wood and used it for the wood burning stove we had. I'm asking because some people already have asked if we lost some and let us come get it.

People around the area we know are finding the wood and not wanting to clean it up because their is so much everwhere.
