Full sunshine behind a heavy rain in Iowa City June 14. The clouds were low and twisty, but no tornados here. Today.

The Foot of the Rainbow

500 Emerald Street, Iowa City

Volunteers were evacuated as the weather got testy. The dark clouds dropped, twisted, flowed, and frightened. As they came closer the wind followed and started ripping at some cottonwood trees, yanking a few branches off in a horizontal direction. The trees swayed and shook violently for a few seconds, and a massive burst of wind tore threw, but then the rain and hail came and the wind died down. At the end, there was a heavy rain without any lightning or hail, and the clouds which dropped the rain had blown by so the sun shone bright right through. As a result, I'm sure there was a rainbow above or nearby for anyone watching from afar. You're welcome.
