Oxford Junction- On June 13 the Legionnaire in Oxford Junction was six inches from going over the wall that was built of sandbags. There have been Legion men and volunteers sandbagging and manning the pumps there since June 11th.
Uptown in Oxford Junction a lot of volunteers from surrounding areas showed up to help fill sandbags when there was a possibility of the south end of town being flooded. Family, friends, and members of the Oxford Junction fire department helped with the evacuation of First Ave South, across from the American Legion. Mainy people came together to provide food and drink for all involved with the flood.
As of June 14 the water is slowly receding with the hopes that it will continue to go down. It was greatly appreciated for all that showed up to help save our town.
