I lived through the flood of 1993 in Coralville - I thought that was horrific. This is just too "Katrina-esque" and hard to wrap your heart around. The video was shot today, June 13, 2008 about 6pm. Cedar Rapids is almost like an island now that I 380 is closed going south to Iowa City. Even if an effort was launched to help our neighbors to the south, the commute alone could take over 4 hours. It just proves that history teaches us to plan for the future but the present teaches us to treasure the past. May God watch over us all as we will surely need his hand of Grace and Mercy.
