Location: Cedar County, Iowa

Those of us in east and central Cedar County are completely cut off from Johnson and Lynn Counties. All four of the bridges crossing the Cedar River are under water, and all highways and county roads to the south and east are closed. If we travel to the north to hwy 30, we can only make it as far as Mt. Vernon, and hwy 38 is flooded in Olin. The communities of Rochester, Cedar Bluff and Cedar Valley have been partially consumed by the Cedar River. What remains of Rochester may be under water when the Cedar River crests in the next day or two.

I have been down in Rochester all day helping to evacuate homes and trying to salvage what we could of peoples belongings...it is a sad situation and a big mess...People need to remeber them and keep them in there thoughts and prayers also!
