Homes at the intersection of Hwys 13 & 30 became an island by Thursday evening (June 12). Access to and from the area was cut off to both Cedar Rapids and Mt. Vernon. One farm house and one home are under water - one photo shows rescue of family (note belongings on the roof). Several farm fields are totally submerged and resemble lakes instead of agriculture. "We always wanted a lake front property," smiles one Cedar Woods resident.
