Cascade's berm holds back North Fork

These were Cascade aerials taken a week ago...from our estimation the North Fork of the Maquoketa River is actually 1 foot higher today, June 13th. We are immensely thankful for the berm (levy) that was placed around the city of Cascade and that it has held so far. There is water in some basements, near the voluntary evacuation areas on Buchanan Street. Most of the flooding is rural on the outskirts of Cascade and people on Riverview Road have water in their horsebarns and are pumping it out of their basement. Nothing compared to what could've happened if it were not for the berm around Cascade. This is the 4th time this year that county road Riverview Road has had water covering it and it has been closed.
