Aldi's in Iowa City

South Iowa City Flooding

Seeing as how there has been little coverage of the flooding in Iowa City so far I took a short trip about a block from my apartment. Last Night I took a short trip to S. Gilbert Street by Hills Bank and saw the little flood water that was there. There was about 2 inches orless of water in the Aldi's parking lot. Today (less then 10 hours later) Aldi's is completely flooded.

At the Waterfront Hy-Vee's Gas Station the Pumps are flooded and the water has already started flooding over the railroad tracks by the Waterfront Hy-Vee.

All in all this is getting pretty bad and it's just amazing how high the water already is! And that its not going to get better for a week!

Thanks for showing this area of IC. It isn't getting much coverage because of not having "major" buildings, but there are a lot of community resources that people are going to lose in the coming weeks that are housed here. Thanks again!

You're Welcome guys! They weren't showing much of the Iowa City Area and I knew there had to be more then me that would like an update. Hopefully they can show a few more of these on the air so others can see whats going on.

Thanks for showing us how bad Iowa City is. My fiance works in Iowa City and we had no ideas what roads were closed or not, because all that's shown is Cedar Rapids on the news. Seeing Aldi like that is shattering.

Thanks for the IC update, I don't live there anymore but am very familiar with the area. I'll watch for more coverage, thanks again. I was there in '93 and this already looks worse, hang in there.
