Flood waters are beyond the 500 year Flood map. Water reaches beyond 7th Street SE on June 12, 2008 at 3 p.m. and continues to rise. Never could anyone have ever imagined the Cedar River reaching Metro High School.

ceder rapids should build a a mechanical flood wall they can raise if there is a flood. it would cost a lot but it would be worth it.

New CR city government appears consumed with the glory/fame of grandiose redevelopment, not infrastructure improvements. The new government must put $$ redevelopment on the backburner, perhaps for a future council, and focus on the foundations.

I was just wondering since you said that Dubuque built a flood wall after their last problems with flooding the 1960's if Iowa City and Cedar Rapids might benefit from doing that to help preven future flood damage?
