A beautiful clear night allowed for this 4.7-second exposure capture of the comet Pan-STARRS in the west sky. The dim comet, which I never was able to make out with my naked eye, is seen at center under a crescent moon. The image was taken from White Road, about 3.5 miles north of Marion, Iowa at 8:00 PM CDT, Wednesday, March 13, 2013.
