SHS Orioles 4 x 100 headed to state!

Location: Regional Track Meet - Northeast Goose Lake

On Saturday May 10th the Springville Orioles girls track team placed 5th at the 1A10 Regional meet and qualified for the State meet in 6 events. The 4 x 100 relay team of Mattea Otten, Sydney Vaughn, Sarah Thies and Brittany Clark, shown in the video taking the gold at the regional meet, also broke a 20 year old school record at the conference meet this year with a time of 52.01.
The Sprint Medley team of Otten, Thies, Vaughn, and Carly Martin will also run at State, along with Clark in the 100 & 200 M Dashes, and Otten in the 100 & 400 M Hurdles.
For the boys, Senior Dan Malloy will compete in the Discus Throw after placing 2nd with a throw of 140' 5".
The State Competition for Boys and Girls Begins Thursday May 15th and ends Saturday May 17th.
