Great Pumpkin Tree

Great Pumpkin Tree of Iowa City!

I'm such a lazy gardener that for the past couple months I've just been walking by this solitary weed springing up out of a rock bed in my front yard, avoiding it week after week, watching it climb higher and higher... until the night I came home and had to investigate the big shadowy shape in the middle of our front burning bushes. I ruled out animal, nest, and trash as I cautiously crept closer... and found out it was a perfectly-shaped pumpkin hanging down in the middle of the bushes, perched at eye height. I've been documenting its progress for the amusement of friends and co-workers, watching it go from green, to speckled, to now fully orange.

This is a great story and interesting way to grow a pumpkin! :) I think Joe Winters should show this on his broadcast!!
