The severe storm located in NE Iowa on the evening of Tuesday, September 4, 2012 appeared as a small continuous source of lightning flashes on the northern horizon when these two 15 and 30 second exposures were made between 9:40-9:50 PM. The captures were made from just south of E. Robins Rd. (background) near Alburnett Rd. in Marion, Iowa. The storm was located near Monona, Iowa in Clayton County, some 65 miles distant. Note the clear sky around the stormy area.
