After the post office decided to stop delivering our mail when the city pushed a 4 foot snow drift in front of our mailbox, we spent a whole week chipping at it with an axe. Turns out, that a chainsaw made the work go much faster. In these photos you can see a kind neighbor helping clean up. Photo taken from Stratford Ln SW, Cedar Rapids.

I live a street over from this guy and we haven't gotten mail since 3/7 either. We have used a crowbar to try to break up the ice. Only helped a little. I think it's a stalemate between the city and post office with residents stuck on the middle.

I agree. This amount of snow has taken the city by surprise. I mean, its Iowa, you'd think they'd know how to deal with snow. But apparently, not.

AS a life-long resident, I know this is not the worst winter we've had. But the new city management is so inept that they are lost and confused everytime they have to make a decision. Maybe we need local people to manage the city?
