The weather, for the most part, did not cooperate for observing the rare Venus transit event on Tuesday evening, June 5, 2012. The inset pic of the sun was taken through the eyepiece of a 60 X 700mm refractor telescope using a mylar solar filter. The background image was captured from Echo Hill Presbyetrian Church in Marion, Iowa. Clouds smudge the inset pic.
