Remember the Glory: Westdale Mall

My family is all from Cedar Rapids and my brother, a professional comedian, has written a funny song about Westdale Mall to raise money for a holiday shopping spree.
-------------------------------

The song can be played via the following link: http://tomsharpe.bandcamp.com/track/westdale-mall . Artist’s statement: “Anyone who lives in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, knows that Westdale Mall has been struggling, with many of its stores closing down and business decreasing. I knew it needed a theme song to remind people of its former glory. You can download this for two dollars. Any money raised will be used for a Tom Sharpe holiday shopping spree at Westdale Mall. If you like terrible ideas or neo-irony so deep that it sounds like it might just be a corny rap song instead, we're in business.”

Background on Tom:
Tom Sharpe was born in California but moved here at the age of 2 (with some help from our parents), attended St. Pius X and graduated from Kennedy High School. Tom has performed locally at Penguins, Coe College, Yacht Club in Iowa City and is currently on a Midwest comedy tour. Highlights of his career include: being hired by Zach Galifianakis (Movies: Hangover, Hangover II) to write and also do some spot performances when Zach was hosting a show on VH-1. Tom has also written comedy scripts for Ellen Degeneres. Additionally, he’s performed at Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, E! 7 Deadly Hollywood Sins and on NBC Late Friday.

This is so funny. Tom Sharpe is a very very funny guy. I am from Cedar Rapids also. I am excited he is helping out the mall.
