Corporal Roy Olinger, US Army, was captured New Year's Eve, 1944, by German soldiers. He was marched to a camp near Dresden, Germany, where he remained for several months in captivity as a Prisoner of War (POW). Roy and his wife Anna currently reside on the family farm near Springville.
