CV Lake Spillway is undergoing a million dollar renovation to the water breaking system below the tube. Today, commercial fisherman and spectators turned out to see what they thought would be thousands of pounds of fish pulled from the low side of the temporary levy put in place for the construction. Well we were all disappointed when only a few basket fulls of average size game fish were brought up by a crane and released on the other side. Not the huge catfish we were all waiting hours to see. Folks believe most of the fish escaped 2 nights ago when the temporary levy gave way on the east side. Fish scrambled across the break as they felt the water level dropping.
