The Proposal - One night in April, Micah was starting to cook dinner. He asked me to run to the store and grab margarita mix. I didn't understand why, because he despises margaritas. He insisted and shoved me out of the door with his debit card. When I returned, the door was locked. I was confused and asked, "Since when are you afraid of monsters?" I was knocking and he kept saying, "Just a minute." When he finally opened up the door I saw the table set with Chicken Alfredo and Breadsticks, my favorite meal. He had lit a candle and put flowers on the table as well. And then I saw the bottle of wine. I had brought this wine home from a study abroad trip to Italy, it was very special to me and I insisted on not opening it until a "very special occasion". I have had the wine for two years, it had been sitting next to my other Italy memorabilia on top of the refrigerator. Well, when I saw that bottle, opened on the table, I knew what was happening! Micah sat me down on the couch and handed me a note. It was perfect, it was just like our high school days of love notes. It said all the right things, and I was so teary, I could barely read it! He then got down on one knee, put the ring on my finger, and asked me to marry him. Our dog, Bo was running around and wanted to be involved in the excitement too! While I was trying to adjust to the shock and excitement, Micah then said "Say hi to the camera!" - That was when I looked over to my camera recording the entire thing! It was such a thoughtful thing for him to do and I know we will cherish it always!
Our Story - Micah and I have been together since I was a freshmen and he was a sophomore in High School, it will be 8 years in November. While our journey has had ups and downs, and we have been through a lot, we have made it through and are very excited to have gotten engaged in April. Micah and I began with shy hand-holding and the typical high school break-ups. We have grown up together and we want to continue on and grow old together. We have busy lives with jobs and college, but enjoy time at home watching movies and playing with our Boxer, "Bo". And now, we have a wedding to plan!
