My husband SSG Travis Ehlinger and I were married in May. We knew at that time that he was being deployed in August with the many other soldiers from Iowa. We found out, the day we were home from our honeymoon, that we were expecting. Travis has been at Camp Pheonix, Afghanistan since November, working as a medic at the TMC there.

On January 4 we were blessed with a beautiful baby boy; Carson Allan Ehlinger. And this friday, January 14th, Travis is expected to come home, for his two week leave, to meet his son for the first time. Carson and I can not be more excited to see Travis. With the help of our family, and all of our wonderful friends, we have gotten through the first half of Travis's deployment. And we are counting down the months to when our new family can be together on a day to day basis.
