Marengo First Lego League team, the Brick Yard Builders, won first place for their robot design out of twenty-six teams at the Regional Qualifier held Saturday, December 4 at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa. This award is given to the team that designs and develops a mechanically sound robot, utilizes outstanding programming principles and uses solid engineering practice and a well-developed strategy to build an innovative and high performing robot. The team will now advance to the state competition at Iowa State University in Ames on January 15.
