The Anamosa FFA shows how to launch a 15 pound pumpkin over 100 feet at the 19th Annual Anamosa Pumpkinfest Sunday. The class had only two weeks to build the project with help from local businesses who donated some of the material. The Trebuchet or Und-Splat as it is affectionately called by David Still, the person with the idea to launch pumpkins at the Pumpkinfest. He had seen this done before and wanted to get the local high school involved to build the project. Next year the class hopes to perfect the Trebuchet to launch bigger pumpkins to that will go much further.
