2010 Granny Basketball National Tourney

The 2010 Granny Basketball National Tournament was held in Branson, Missouri, Saturday Aug. 7th at the Branson Sports Club.

68 Women participated on Saturday. The league is made up of 17 teams, 12 in Iowa, 2 in Minnesota and 3 in Louisiana. Participants must be age 50+.

Nine games were played, including the fundraiser game against the Minn. Dream Team.

Results of the Nationals:

1st place “THE GOLDEN OLDIES’ (from Des Moines)

2nd place “BASKETBALL FUN-NATIC’S (from Cedar Rapids)

3rd place ‘THE MIDWEST ROYAL BLUES’. (from Indianola/Atkins/Des Moines)

Other participants included ‘THE LOUISIANA CRUSHERS’, “LAKE CHARLES HOT FLASH” and THE MINNESOTA MAYBE’S.

The Branson Sports Club is the home of the Minnesota Dream team, an AAU team from Branson.
