Actually, Lee, another station outside this TV market started the chat thing and it's since spread... trust me, Joe didn't do it just because Schnack was. Besides, when more than one station has good severe weather coverage, that can only be a good thing.

Oh come on. Schnack did the chat thing first. Can't you use a different chat. That's Schnacks thing. :P Although I'm sure he loves the fact he's influenced channel 9.

Joe or should I call you Indiana Barbecue? Do you know which/when events for the Freedom Festival will take place? Specifically I am wondering about the concerts that were to take place this weekend and the Marion Fly in Breakfast?

I am intersted in seeing the cancelations page updated as I attend classes at Kirkwood and have quite a commute so I would like to know asap if they wil be in session this next week I am doubtful for Monday as Hwy 13 and HWY 30 remain closed and to add the extra traffic to I-380 would make things really nasty with some cleanup efforts already in progress.....let us know these things with an update to the cancelations---THANK YOU!!

It seems to me that tornado warnings are used too often. What is the official difference between a warning and a watch? I thought the warning was a tornado had been spotted and that a watch meant that conditions existed to possibly produce a tornado. I am sure I am not the only one confused. There should be three separate levels for tornado weather - watch = conditions exist to possibly produce tornado; warning = rotation or rotation-like radar signatures; ? = tornado has been spotted!

There are many who still do not believe that global warming is a problem at all. And it's no wonder: because they are the targets of a massive and well-organized campaign of disinformation lavishly funded by polluters who are determined to prevent any action to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming out of a fear that their profits might be affected if they had to stop dumping so much pollution into the atmosphere. Al Gore CAN HE GET WITH CHINA AND INDIA AND HELP THEM?

The Chinese government believes launching shells containing silver iodide pellets into clouds will curb rainfall and smog, ensuring clear skies for the 2008 Summer Olympics opening ceremonies in Beijing. How does the work?

Hi Joe, This has been a long winter and hard to drive allot of days on my part-time job. But I have to say that I enjoy winter very much. It is so much easier to keep warm than it is to keep cool. I am looking forward to planting my flowers soon, but after the temps. get into the 80's I will be spending allot of time with the AC. Keep up your good work.

Supposedly there is a potent winter storm coming this weekend. Would you like to elaborate on your blog? I know for sure there are going to be a ton of travelers this weekend... an elaborate forecast would be really helpful!
