Josh Goes to Bernard Elementary

Tools

By Josh Baynes

I recently stopped by Bernard Elementary and spoke to the Kindergarten class and the First grade.  As soon as I walked in the classroom, I was greeted by the weather page of KCRG.com on the wall!  The class uses the website for their daily weather reports.  How cool is that?

After hearing about how they use KCRG.com, I started in on talking about the water cycle and how the sun interacts with large bodies of water to produce rain.  Beyond that, I did a few weather experiments and then talked what to do about severe weather.  I preached my usual "Get As Low As You Can Go" when it comes to severe storms and tornadoes.  That saying can apply to wherever you are, basement or no basement.

Special thanks to Ms. Noonan for the invite!
