Clinton Rejects Secrecy Charge, Collects Endorsement

By Scott Sanborn

CLINTON (AP) - Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary
Rodham Clinton continues her latest campaign swing to Iowa with
several stops in eastern Iowa, including Cedar Rapids.

She's to spell out her plans for using clean energy as a method
of boosting the rural economy.

Yesterday in Clinton, she rejected charges she's being secretive
about her failed effort as first lady to overhaul the nation's
health care system.

She shrugged off the accusations, saying rivals are criticizing
her in large part because she's winning the race for the
nomination.

Clinton was accompanied by former Vice President Walter Mondale,
who endorsed her for the nomination. Mondale was the party's
presidential nominee in 1984 before losing in a landslide to Ronald
Reagan.
