School is almost out, but just because the school year is ending doesn’t mean the learning has to stop. The Summer Reading Program starts June 1st at the Cedar Rapids Public Library. There are programs for babies, children, teens, and adults. This years theme for the children’s program is Fizz! Boom! Read!, in addition to encouraging kids to read there will be a number of science themed special programs and events. Every Wednesday the library will host Rooftop Science on their LivingLearning roof starting at 1:30 p.m., the program is geared toward kids ages 4-12. All the summer reading programs offer incentives to read, with prizes handed out for completing different tasks. Kids can enter to win a bicycle and adults have the chance to win a tablet. Registration for the Summer Reading Program starts June 1, the program ends on July 25. To register or to find out more about the programs go to www.crlibrary.org.
