CEDAR RAPIDS -- Zach Johnson was back in his hometown today to talk to children involved in his Kids on Course program. Johnson is taking another week off to let his body and mind heal before he hosts his Foundation Classic on Monday at Elmcrest Country Club. Then it’s off to the John Deere Classic.
[My golf game] was in dire need of a break, he said. It feels good. That may be surprising based on the results I’ve had lately, but it feels good.
I’m burnt out, I’m a little tired. I know that my body needs a rest. I like where I am. Fundamentally, everything’s pretty sound. Mentally, I need a break. It’s just a matter of going out there and executing after the break.
