For the past few years, the UNI men’s basketball team has brought in transfers. Just last year we saw former C.R. Washington grad Wes Washpun. This season’s transfer is Paul Jesperson.
Jesperson is a transfer from Virginia, where he had to sit out last year. In his sophomore year, he started 33 out of 35 games. He averaged 5 points per game, and shot 37 percent from 3-point range. He says he’s ready to take the floor and be a threat on offense. It’s been a long time, obviously, it’s been a year off, he said. Just to be out there with referees and other great competition, it’s great to be out there. I’m a guy that can make shots, that’s a big thing and with UNI making shots, being able to create off the bounce, hit others, just play and I have a great feel for the game, so I think I can bring that.
Also, being able to play two years at Virginia, I think I can bring some experience too.
