MOUNT VERNON -- The Mount Vernon Mustangs have a new football coach when they take on Marion Friday night. After spending 10 years at Wilton, Lance Pedersen takes over.
“The thing we want to bring back is what they were able to do in the past, and that’s to tackle well and block well and do things in a fundamentally sound way,” Pedersen said. “I think we’ve brought a sense of discipline and a sense of urgency here.”
“You can already tell that the intensity is a lot higher than it was,” senior Ryan Muller said. “So we’re excited about that.”
“They’re bringing in all these new concepts, but really it’s the same stuff we’ve been taught in the past,” senior Josh Hof said. “Just in better ways.”
