MARION -- The Linn-Mar Lions are hoping to turn things around this season behind the arm of one of the top quarterbacks in the state.
2013 is a year Linn-Mar would like to leave in the past. After a 2-7 finish, all eyes are on the future.
“I hope they have that chip on their shoulder, and they practice like they do,” head coach Bob Forsyth said.
“We’re just working harder to come out and compete every night,” quarterback Ryan Schmidt said.
Schmidt’s return is one reason for optimism at Linn-Mar.
“It’s such a big bonus to have a kid coming back,” Forsyth said. “He’s put himself in a position to be that kind of player. We’re just anxious to get going and see what he can do.”
“He’s out here 110 percent every single down,” senior running back Logan Benter said. “In film, on the field, you’ll never see him take off a play.”
