CEDAR RAPIDS -- Between the cold and the rain, the first couple months of the season have been rough on the Kernels.
Mother nature had the upper hand again on Monday. But as baseball players in the Midwest know, their ability to play is at the mercy of the weather.
The Kernels were supposed to play a double-header Monday to help make up for an earlier rain-out, but now they’ll be stuck playing two seven-inning games Tuesday and Wednesday.
“You can’t control things you can’t control,” Cedar Rapids native Chad Christensen said. “You’ve just got to assume you’re playing until they tell you you’re not. That can be a little distracting mentally, but that’s why you’re here anyways.”
