Despite only winning one game last season, expectations are high at Cedar Rapids Jefferson, heading into the fall football season.
When the J-Hawks kick off their season, they’ll have 50 players on their roster, 20 more than when Coach Brian Webb took over the program two years ago.
“First year I was here, we were at about 31 to 32 and last year we were at about 41 or 42 (players),” Webb said. “We’ve got to have more players, and we’ve done a good job of getting more players.”
With an increase in depth and talent, higher expectations are approaching the Jefferson squad. It’s been since 2006 that the J-Hawks have had a winning season, Webb said and he thinks this year’s team will be able to break that streak.
