BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa – An overnight crash in Black Hawk County injured two people, one of them seriously.

The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Department responded to Highway 218, just north of Cedar Falls for a call of a roll over. That’s where they say they found Gary Lee Kinkade, Sr., 64, of Waterloo had rolled his truck.

Deputies said he dropped off the shoulder of the road and as he was coming back onto the road, he overcorrected and lost control.

His vehicle rolled at least two times before landing on the driver’s side. Kinkade’s passenger 66-year-old Susan Kinkade was thrown from the vehicle. Paramedics took both to the hospital. Deputies say Susan Kinkade has serious injuries. Their conditions have not been released.
