Waterloo Vehicle Pursuit Ends in Gun Arrest

WATERLO, Iowa - Waterloo police found a handgun after a short car chase Saturday night. Police say the chace started in the area of Broadway Street and Park Road around 9:45 P.M.

Police tried to pull a car over for a traffic stop when the driver pulled away and led police on a short chase. That chase ended later when the suspects’ car abruptly stopped near the corner of Harrison Street and Logan avenue.

Two suspects then ran from the car and police chased them on foot. One of the suspects dropped a .40 Caliber semi-automatic handgun while escaping.

Police later arrested 32 year old Dennis Brown Jr. and 28-year-old Antonio Evans.

Brown faces charge of felon in possession of a firearm, and eluding and interference with official acts. Evans faces one felony charge for aiding and abetting and interference with official acts involving a firearm. Both were booked into the Black Hawk County Jail.
