LINN COUNTY, Iowa — The Linn County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle crash on North Alburnett Road south of Justin’s Road at 3:48 p.m. Tuesday.

When crews arrived they found one vehicle on its side in the ditch. Deputies say the driver, 16-year-old Courtney Clemens lost control of her vehicle while driving south bound and crashed the vehicle into the east ditch.

Clemens and her 17-year-old passenger Megan Overly were both transported to St. Luke’s Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. A second 15-year-old passenger was not injured in the crash.

Deputies say the crash remains under investigation. All three teens were wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash. Clemens was given a citation for “Failure to Maintain Control.”
