By Associated Press

GRAND JUNCTION, Iowa (AP) — Iowa authorities say a man has died and has injured two others while driving recklessly on a highway.

Trooper Kevin Leffler says 27-year-old Daniel Reetz was killed near Grand Junction on Monday. Leffler says Reetz’s Chevy Impala crossed the center line on a bridge and struck a Cadillac Escalade head-on. He was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 27-year-old male driver and 25-year-old female passenger in the Escalade were hospitalized in Jefferson. The trooper says the injuries were not believed to be life threatening. Their conditions are unknown.

Leffler described Reetz’s driving as “reckless.”
