CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Why did the geese cross the road? No one is sure, but a gaggle kept Cedar Rapids police busy for at least an hour, Saturday.
A group of Canadian Geese managed to find their way on to the I -380 S-curve. The protective parents and their goslings goose-stepped northbound, gumming up traffic as they went.
Two Cedar Rapids police officers were tasked with handling the fowl situation. Their squad cars escorted the animals toward exit 20B. The birds made it up the off-ramp and around the corner without incident, taking refuge in a nearby parking lot.
