CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office reports a single engine airplane made an emergency landing Saturday night.

According to a news release, the pilot had engine trouble and had to land the plane about 8 p.m. on Gresham Road just east of Wagner Road. That’s about 5 miles north of the Waterloo Regional Airport.

Deputies said 49-year-old Michael Hickman and his 22-year-old son James, both of Longmont, Colo. were flying to Oshkosh, Wis. for the 2014 Experimental Aircraft Association Air Show.

There were no injuries and no damage to the plane, according to the news release.

A flatbed truck towed the plane to the Waterloo Regional Airport.
