Sheriff’s Office: Solon man had sex with 15-year-old runaway

A Solon man is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old and helping her run away from home.

According to Johnson County Sheriff’s Office criminal complaints, 20-year-old Colin J.L. Brown faces two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony; and harboring a runaway against the wishes of their parents, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Police said during the early morning hours of July 2, Brown drove to Rock Island, Ill. and picked up the girl from her home without her parents’ knowledge. Police said Brown lied to conceal the girls’ whereabouts.

According to the criminal complaints, Brown performed sex acts on the girl at his home in Solon.

A Class C felony is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
