BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa — The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s office reports a single vehicle rollover crash sent the teen driver to the hospital Friday night.

According to a news release, deputies responded to the crash on Airline Highway west of North Canfield Road about 6:30 p.m.

Deputies said 16-year-old Madison M. Werning of Elk Run Heights was traveling eastbound on Airline Highway when she lost control on the gravel. They said the vehicle entered the ditch and rolled one time, landing on the roof. A passer-by was able to free Werning from the wreckage.

Deputies said Werning suffered non-life threatening injuries. They have not released her condition.

Dunkerton Ambulance took Werning to Covenant Medical Center.
